Solar Power Systems

There are many components that make up a complete solar power system, but the 4 main items are: solar modules, charge controllers, batteries and inverters. The solar panels convert the sunís energy into electricity, and the DC power they produce is wired through a charge controller before it goes to the battery bank where it is stored. Energy can be taken out of the battery bank and used as DC (12 or 24 Volts DC) or, using an inverter, converted to 220/240V AC if required to run the AC appliances. Control systems may shut down power draining equipment automatically to preserve the battery and display units may be provided so that the vital working of the solar panels and batteries can be monitored.
